When you see a padlock next to something that you want to edit, it means that component is "Checked-out". This can happen for many reasons. To remove it:

Joomla 1.5: Tools > Global Check-in

Joomla 1.0: System menu > Global Check-in
If there are checked out components a green tick will appear next to everything that has been checked back in.

Log in to your website

In Joomla 1.5 the Trash managers are under the appropriate menu - eg for Articles Trash go to the Articles Menu, for Menus Trash go to the Menus menu

In Joomla 1.0 Click on the trash manager icon in the homepage (or use the Site >Trash Manager). Note the drop down menu showing Menu and Content items - choose what the appropriate option

Tick the item that you want to delete

Click on delete

The website will ask you to confirm that you want to delete the item

Log in to your website

Tick the item that you want to restore

Click on restore
Please note: While this procedure is straight forward, if you are not familiar with HTML you may find it easier to get Butterfly Internet to do it for you.

Insert the video into You-tube (refer to their online help if you require assistance)

On You-tube, go to the video that you want to insert into your site

To the right of the video is the word "Embed" followed by some HTML code that looks like:

Copy this embed code (Ctrl C on windows machines)

Log into your website and go to edit the page where you want to put the video (Click here for more help to edit a page)

Press the [Show/hide] or "HTML" button at the top of the text editor

Scroll down to the position that you want the video, click the cursur where you want the video to go and paste the embed code

If you clicked the "HTML" button, press "Update". If you clicked on [show/hide], click it again and your changes will be added in.

Press "Save"

Go to the page and make sure that it works

Log in to your site

Site > Template manager > Site templates

Select the appropriate template and choose "Assign"

All of the menu items selected will then appear in the template you have assigned
