Using the text editor to edit pages

Inserting links (hyperlinks)

  1. Select the text and/or image that you want to be the link
  2. Press on the Insert/Edit link icon (looks like a chain link, and is normally the first or second icon on the left in the bottom row of buttons)
  3. In Joomla 1.5: Under Link Browser, press the cross next to Content to expand it - this gives a list of all of the sections
  4. In Joomla 1.0: At the bottom of that page is "Joomla! Content Links" - Select link type as "Article" (in this location pages are considered articles)
  5. Choose the section that the page is in
  6. Choose the category that the page is in
  7. Choose the page
  8. To have this link open in a new window, choose the correct option in the Target drop down list
  9. Press on Insert
