JomComment

  1. Go to the back end of your website: <yoursite>/administrator
  2. Enter your details and login.
  3. Go to Components > JomComment
  1. After logging in (as above) you will be at the JomComment home screen. From this point you are able to edit comments and publish them.
  2. If your JomComment configuration requires you to moderate all comments, once you have logged in and are at the home screen you will be shown a list of recent comments.
    1. On the right hand side of the list you will see a little red cross in the “Published” column. This means that the comment hasn’t been published.
    2. Read through the comment and make sure that it is suitable and then click on the little red cross. This will change to a green tick and the comment is now published.
  3. You are able to view all comments if you go to “View Comment” on the left hand side
    1. You can then read through comments and edit any that you believe are not up to the standards of your website.
  1. After logging in you will be shown the list of recent comments.
  2. To ban a user, find a comment that was made by the user that is in question and then click on “Ban this user” which is below the comment.
  3. You may also ban all access from that specific IP. Click on “Ban user IP”. This will stop the user being able to create a different account and start posting comments again.
  1. After you have logged in, click on “General Settings” in the left hand menu.
  2. Scroll down to the “Sections” area.
  3. In the sections box, select the sections that you wish for comments to be available. This is the same sections that articles are placed into. So this means that comments will be available on all articles within the selected section. To select multiple sections, just hold control down when you click on the different sections.
  4. Once you have selected the areas, click on “Save"
