Microsoft Outlook 2007
To set up your email address to work in Microsoft Outlook 2007:
- Tools > Account Settings
- New (on the E-mail tab)
- Select "Microsoft Exchange, POP3, IMAP or HTTP" then next
- Tick “Manually configure server settings or additional server types” and then "Next" Please note: a lot of people miss this step
- Choose "Internet E-mail: POP / IMap / HTTP" and then "Next"
- Insert the following information:
User Information
- Your name as you’d like it to be seen by others eg “Mary Smith”
- Insert your full email address eg This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it
Server Information
- Account type: POP3
- Incoming mail server as emailed to you (it is "mail" in place of the "www" in your website address, for example "mail.butterflyinternet.com.au")
- Outgoing mail server as per your internet service provider - the company that provides your internet connection, such as Bigpond. Help to identify your outgoing mail server
Log On Information
- User name is your entire email address eg This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it
- Password as emailed to you
- Tick "Remember password" (unless other people use this computer)
Leave unticked: "logon using Secure Password Authentication (SPA)"
Press “Test Account Settings”". If all the arrows are green then you are finished. If there is a red cross check that all of the settings match the above and what was supplied to you.
Press “Next” to finish
