Project Overview

Courses Direct are Australia's largest provider of distance education courses. They deliver over 600 qualifications that can all be easily studied from home.

They offer their students a range of flexible study options including online courses, correspondence courses and a range of distance learning options that are designed to fit around a range of lifestyles. This helps to facilitate learning anywhere, anytime. Their courses and programs are designed to produce real results for those wanting to change careers, enter the workforce, or simply want to up-skill.

In its current state, there is a heavy focus on Search Engine Optimisation and rankings. Courses Direct quickly realised their bounce rate had increased dramatically over the last 12 months. This spike in bounces had occurred because over 60 per cent of their traffic was now accessing their site through a mobile device.

The courses direct website did not currently have a mobile site and this made it difficult for users to navigate through the courses when viewing the site on a mobile device, as it didn’t display well and required users to do a lot of scrolling.

Technology & Design

The client’s main site is an existing Joomla Content Management system. In order to complete the project we simply needed to design and build a new mobile template that could be managed through the existing site in the article manager.

The primary goal of the site was to provide the user with a simple way to submit an enquiry to the client regarding the particular course they wanted to study. The sleek and simple designs make this achievable for the end user.

The result is an attractive and completely optimised mobile experience that allows the user to clearly and easily submit an enquiry from their mobile device.
