Project Overview
One of the most stunningly situated shopping complexes in the country; visitors to Birkenhead Point can browse through a huge range of stores while enjoying breath-taking views over the Sydney harbour.
Birkenhead point is Sydney’s original factory outlet centre. A site rich with heritage, the development of the centre can be dated back to the early 1800s. More recently, Birkenhead Point has become renowned for offering top designer labels at up to 70 per cent off regular retail prices.
This site needed to be more user-friendly and contemporary. In order to achieve these goals, the colour scheme needed to be updated. It was changed to bright blue and white, keeping the look clean and fresh, emphasising Birkenhead Point’s sea-side location. Subsequently, the predominantly brown colour that existed has now been almost omitted, as it looked a little dated. Brown is still used as a secondary colour and can still be seen on the site so that branding is still recognisable to its regular customers, but it is no longer part of the core colour scheme.
Technology & Design
Some of the key features of the site that are worth noting include an easy-to navigate-store finder for the convenience of shoppers, and a store directory which allows customers to easily find their favourite stores through category types and a store map. This shows exactly where a particular store is located in the mall. The VIP section gives users a sneak preview of some of the latest discounts that they can benefit from throughout the mall. It also gives customers the opportunity to sign up to the email database in order to received special member-only discounts.
To assist with email marketing initiatives, User registrations have been integrated accordingly. In addition to this, social media is a vital part of the website’s home page, and a twitter feed is utilised here.

The new site is an improvement on experience for Birkenheads customers.
